Three discarded drawers become a desk. The drawers, stripped of their original context, are rotated into legs and surface. The lamp, made from the drawer slides, are no longer a stand alone accessory; it bears weight as the fourth leg while still performing its function overhead.
From sketches, to Rhino modelling, to 3D printing, to physically assembly, the prosthetics allow mismatched parts to meet and hold, custom-fitting each point of contact that original geometries couldn’t resolve on their own.
The piece asks what happens when objects are released from their assigned roles. A drawer doesn’t have to be a drawer, a lamp doesn’t have to sit on something else. By reassigning function rather than adding material, the project finds sufficiency in what already exists.
