In my first year as a design student, we learned how lamps work; This included studying materiality, electrical components and manufacturing. Together with Nicole Mosora and Anya Gomez-Tagle, we created this piece following Andreas Kowalewski’s original design.

We initiated the process by making a cardboard model which we designed on Rhino 3D and followed to export it to Adobe Illustrator to send it to the Laser Cutter.

Materials: Opal glass bulb shade, Black-painted steel, textile cord and a plastic shade.
