This redesign of L’Étranger translates Camus’ philosophy of absurdism into the physical structure of the book itself. The publication is divided into two distinct parts: one that follows the original linear order of the novel, and a second that deliberately disrupts this sequence, presenting the chapters in disarray. This dual structure mirrors the tension between humanity’s desire for order and the inherent irrationality of the world. Chapter titles are arranged following a solar logic—radiating, shifting, and recurring; to reference the omnipresent sun in the novel, which functions not only as a setting but as an oppressive force shaping Meursault’s actions and emotional detachment. Through controlled typography, rigid grids, and moments of intentional disorder, the book becomes an experiential object: the reader does not simply read absurdism, but physically navigates it.
