The purpose of Subsidio is to be able to manage stress by applying pressure to different points in the face. We based our project on Chinese medicine. We chose certain facial spots that are on top of energy channels that can help free the flow of “Qi.”, energies that permeate the universe.

We also based the design of our mask on chakras. Chakras refer to various energy centres in your body that correspond to specific nerve bundles and internal organs. It is also believed in holistic medicine that in order to accomplish a clear headspace and mental wellbeing that all chakras are aligned.

We represented where each chakra is located on the face. We used red to represent the base chakra, purple for crown, Green for heart, Yellow for solar, blue for throat, and white to represent the soul.
