I created this piece as an appreciation for marine life when I realized that it is not as present as it used to be. I completed this piece while spending a weekend at the beach and realized that there was not as much wildlife on sight as to when I was younger. The fishes represent richness and presence, while the empty background symbolizes isolation and morbidity. I added a few rocks with doodles inside to represent the movement of the ocean and change over time and added a pop of color since wildlife has not disappeared entirely. The bubbles show a connection between the fish as if they were trying to communicate.
